Welcome:

The Goodwill Volunteer Fire Company is one of nine fire departments in Queen Anne's County, Maryland. Station 4 is located at 212 Broadway houses ten pieces of apparatus that are staffed by a 100 percent volunteer force, providing Fire, Rescue & Emergency Medical Service.

The Goodwill Fire Company has a special service for the citizens of the Centreville area, we are the only company in Queen Anne's County that has a Paid Ambulance Service from the hours of 0700 till 2400. This service does not cost the citizens of Centreville or Queen Anne's County any tax dollars, this service is paid from the billing when a patient is transported.

Rescue Box 4-4

On sunday Septmeber 5,2010 at 8:13pm QAC DES struck the rescue box 4-4 for an mvc with rollover. PM-40 arrived with one vehicle overturned. Crews investigated and found the driver not to be injured.

On friday September 3,2010 at 12:48hrs QAC DES struck the 5-12 rescue box for an MVC with rollover at Rt.213 & Princess Anne Dr. Kent MD E-68 arrived with one vehicle overturned with 2 patients trapped. Pm-40 was requested as a 3rd ALS unit. PM-40 arrived and took the driver of the overturned vehicle. Two patients were flown to maryland shock trauma and one patient was transported to CRMC.

MVC & FOOT CHASE

On Wednesday August 18,2010 at 5:48pm QAC DES struck the 4-9 rescue local for an mvc. PM-40 arrived with a single vehicle off the roadway on Rt.213 @ Schelhouse Rd. PM-40 crew investigated and found a male subject trying to get the vehicle from the ditch, as the Maryland State Police arrived the subject ran into the woods and the chase was on. MSP requested a k-9 dog to track the suject. Units remained on the scene for 2 hours to assist the MSP.

4-9 stove Fire

On wednesday August 18,2010 at 12:12pm QAC DES struck the 4-9 box for a dwelling fire. PM-40 arrived on location with a 2 sty sfd with nothing evident. Upon investigation PM-40 crew found a pan that was burning laying in the front yard, inside found some minor extension into the microwave and cabinets. The box was held to station 4 & 5.

RESCUE LOCAL 4-1

On tuesday June 15,2010 @ 3:51 pm PM-40 came upon a 3 vehicle mvc while responding to another mvc in the 3-8 box. One patient from a sedan was complaining of neck pain, PM40 handled the transport while R-4 & E-41 crews secured the vehicles and fluids on the ground. Command was established by officer 405(kiel). PM-40 transported one pri-3 to CRMC.

On wednesday morning April.21,2010 @ 7:58hrs QAC DES struck the rescue local for an mvc involving 5 patients. PM-4 arrived shortly after other units to find a DOC van off the road into a sand pile with numerous patients standing & sitting at the back of the van. PM-4 crew assisted other crews with placing patients on backboards and into transport units. PM-4 returned available and then was transferred to station 5 for als coverage.


 
   
   
Brush Fire

On thursday April.8,2010 @ 3pm we received a phone call at station 4 for smoke in the area of Rt.309 near poplar school rd. PM-4 crew investigated the smoke and found it to be located on stafford rd. The brush fire was a control burn and had gotten out of control from the wind. PM-4 requested ET-4 & BR-4 to assist with hitting hot spots. Officer 407(smith) arrived on BR-4 and established the command. CMD requested an additional brush truck to assist. BR-4 & BR-87 were in the woods and being supplied by ET-4 & E-41. crews stayed on scene for two hours to mop up.

Control Burn

On saturday April.3,2010 @ 7:45am crews headed out to coon run lane to conduct a control burn of a single family house. Crews operated until 13:30hrs and then returned to service. Crews conducted ventilation techniques before burning the structure.
